Hi! My family calls me Mama Bear and I’d like to formally welcome you to my comfort food blog! Being a busy mom of two children, one with disabilities, I quickly realized making fancy, involved meals every night of the week wasn’t just stressful…it’s just not sustainable. It left me feeling burnt out, frazzled, in need of a large glass of wine, jaded, insert your favorite word for stressed out here.
I’ll bet you feel the same way, whether you’re a stay at home or working mama bear. We don’t need frill and fluff, we need quick and EASY kid friendly recipes that stand the test of time. My mission at Mama Bear’s Cooking is to provide moms and caregivers just that – low stress, simple meals, and a COMFORT FOOD blog with recipes the entire family will love. And, because my son requires a GSD friendly, low sugar diet, you’ll find some of these options here too!
Tell me, what is comfort food to you? Do you think of when you were little and your grandmother would cook up a big batch of chicken noodle soup? Didn’t that soup make you feel so much better when you were sick? Or maybe it’s something as simple as a tuna sandwich or peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Maybe as an adult, especially as a busy parent, you don’t have time to make fancy meals. I plan to give you a plethora of easy ways to provide comfort foods to your family, no matter if they are picky eaters or have the most developed of palates. So get out your instant pots, your air fryers, your stockpots, AND microwaves, because I’m about to show you how YOU can make American comfort classics every week at your house.
